 Solar Energy

The Burnaston PArish Logo

Burnaston Parish Council is monitoring proposals for solar energy development that may affect Burnaston and the surrounding area.

Castle Way Energy has submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report for a proposed large-scale solar energy development, battery storage and associated infrastructure to the west of Derby.

Part of the proposed infrastructure and potential connection routes may affect Burnaston Parish.

The project is currently at an early stage. The present consultation concerns the scope of the Environmental Impact Assessment and the matters that should be examined as the proposals develop. It is not a decision on whether the development should be approved.

Burnaston Parish Council has submitted a formal response setting out the issues it believes should be fully considered, including the potential effects on the local landscape, agricultural land, public rights of way, traffic, flooding, heritage and nearby residents.

The relevant documents are available below alongside the latest news on the proposal.

Below, you’ll find the most recent meeting agendas, minutes, and details on working groups.
