Update on the National Grid Upgrade: Follow-Up Sessions Announced

Following the session held in Burnaston last autumn, two follow-up sessions have been arranged with the National Grid team. These meetings aim to address any unanswered questions from the previous session and provide further clarity on the National Grid upgrade project.

Dates & Times:

  • Friday, 25th April – 18:00-20:00

  • Friday, 6th June – 18:00-20:00

Who Will Be Attending?

Alongside Samantha Niblett MP and her team, key representatives from National Grid will be available to answer questions and provide updates:


  • James Leeming – Project Director, Chesterfield to Willington

  • Dan Pickard – Senior Project Manager, Chesterfield to Willington

  • Peter Attwell – Lead Consents Officer

  • Mohammed Farooq (Farooq) – External Affairs Manager


How to Attend

Each session has a capacity of 40 attendees. To ensure those in the affected or adjacent parish areas are informed ahead of time, Samantha Niblett MP is sharing this update early.


These sessions will be advertised more widely in due course, with an Eventbrite link to facilitate registration. If you have outstanding concerns about the National Grid upgrade, this is an excellent opportunity to get the answers you need from those directly involved.
